Bako National Park represents a remarkable example of ecological concentration within a compact area, protecting multiple distinct biomes that would typically require much larger territories to find together. Located at the northern tip of the Muara Tebas peninsula in Sarawak, the park sits at the confluence of the Bako and Kuching Rivers with the South China Sea, creating a landscape shaped by millions of years of sandstone erosion. Visitors reach the park exclusively by boat from Kampung Bako, a journey of about 20 minutes that sets the tone for the park's secluded and natural character.
