Naturschutzgebiet Oberlauf des Saliesiepens: A Protected Riparian Landscape and Map Context

The reserve is best known for safeguarding the upper reaches of a meandering brook, the Saliesiepen, along with the alder woodland that fringes its narrow, stony-gravel bed. It is recognized as a small but ecologically important refuge for riparian forest and flowing-water communities within an otherwise conifer-dominated forest landscape in the Sauerland.
