Landschaftsschutzgebiet Groppertal

Groppertal is a small, forested valley landscape in the southeastern Black Forest of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Designated as a protected landscape by the former Villingen district office on 11 November 1957, it spans the territory of the city of Villingen-Schwenningen and the municipality of Unterkirnach. The valley follows part of the Brigach valley upstream from the Kirnach railway station, between Mönchweiler and Unterkirnach, and belongs naturally to the South-eastern Black Forest. Its character is shaped by open wet meadows between the Breitbrunnenbach and the Gropperhof, the agriculturally maintained Wannendobelbach side valley, and otherwise extensive woodland flanking the floodplain of the Brigach. Within this setting, the protected landscape safeguards a characteristic mosaic of forest, agricultural grassland, and riparian habitat. It overlaps with the broader Natura 2000 complexes of Baar, Eschach and South-eastern Black Forest, and lies inside the larger Naturpark Südschwarzwald framework.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
