Hegau Landscape Protection Area (Tuttlingen District)

Hegau is a small designated landscape protection area (Landschaftsschutzgebiet) located in the municipality of Immendingen, within the Landkreis Tuttlingen in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The protected area covers approximately 2.7 square kilometers of the Hegaualb natural region, a plateau landscape between the Danube and the Swabian Alb. The reserve is administered by the Landratsamt Tuttlingen and was originally designated by the Landratsamt Donaueschingen in 1952. The landscape of the protected area is dominated by agricultural land use, with fields and meadows forming the core of its scenery. A small forested island known as the Franzengrund adds a distinct woodland element to an otherwise open agricultural setting. In the south, the A 81 motorway passes through the vicinity of the area. Although modest in scale, the Hegau landscape protection area is part of a larger network of protected natural and cultural landscapes in the region. It lies within the Naturpark Obere Donau and borders a similarly named protected area in the Landkreis Konstanz, with which it shares a broader geographic identity tied to the Hegau region.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
