Łąka w Bęczkowicach

Łąka w Bęczkowicach is a small, ecologically focused protected area in central Poland, designated as a Site of Community Importance within the European Natura 2000 network. Located in the Łódzkie Voivodeship, the site spans the rural communes of Łęki Szlacheckie and Masłowice and lies within the Wzgórza Radomszczańskie mesoregion. The site is centered on peatland meadows that have developed on former peat extraction grounds along the left bank of the Luciąża River, accompanied by willow thickets along the riverbank. After centuries of low-intensity agricultural use, including mowing, grazing, and peat cutting, the area has been left to develop as semi-natural wetland habitat. Its conservation significance lies in the unusual concentration of rare wetland plants, particularly the Liparis loeselii orchid and other protected species, as well as in its role as habitat for European otters and Eurasian beavers. It is valued primarily as a habitat protection site rather than a visitor destination.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
