Dęby Napiwodzkie Nature Reserve

Dęby Napiwodzkie is a small forest nature reserve in northeastern Poland, located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship within the Jedwabno commune and the Nowy Las forest district. Designated in 1989, the reserve encompasses slightly under 37 hectares of lowland woodland and was created specifically to protect fragments of natural forest communities that have largely disappeared from the surrounding landscape. The protected area contains elements of three classic central European lowland forest types: oak-hornbeam grąd forest, alder floodplain łęg forest, and mixed coniferous bór forest. Its most distinctive feature is a cohort of pedunculate oaks of exceptional age, standing alongside older Scots pines and a rich herb layer typical of well-preserved broadleaf woodland. Although compact, the reserve is ecologically meaningful as a reference site for the historical character of Warmian lowland forest, combining old trees with the understorey communities that depend on them.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
