Flinders Chase National Park

Flinders Chase National Park is a protected area spanning 326.61 square kilometers at the western end of Kangaroo Island in South Australia. Established as a flora and fauna reserve in 1919 and proclaimed as a national park in 1972, it was the second national park to be declared in South Australia. The park encompasses three distinct sections: coastal landscapes around Cape du Couedic in the southwest, the Gosse Lands in the center of the western island, and the former Cape Borda Lightstation reserve in the northwest. Located approximately 177 kilometers west-southwest of Adelaide and 110 kilometers west of Kingscote, the park serves as a sanctuary for endangered species and protects notable geological phenomena including the famous Remarkable Rocks granite formations.
