Gebiete zwischen Bisingen, Haigerloch und Rosenfeld

Gebiete zwischen Bisingen, Haigerloch und Rosenfeld is a designated Fauna-Flora-Habitat (FFH) site in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southwestern Germany, situated entirely within the Zollernalbkreis. Although its name refers primarily to three towns, the protected landscape also extends across parts of the municipalities of Geislingen, Grosselfingen, and Hechingen, forming a mosaic of fifteen separate parcels rather than one continuous block. The site safeguards a particularly rich assemblage of calcareous and semi-natural habitats typical of the Swabian Alb foothills. Its ecological value lies in the combination of juniper heaths, dry limestone grasslands, species-rich matgrass swards, floodplain forests along small watercourses, and small calcareous spring mires. These fragments collectively preserve habitat types and species that have become increasingly rare across intensively farmed agricultural landscapes in central Europe. Notable within the area is its view of the famous Burg Hohenzollern, the ancestral castle of the Prussian and German royal dynasty. Beyond its scenic setting, the FFH designation reflects the site's contribution to the European Natura 2000 network for the protection of threatened habitats and species of community interest.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
