Hachtel und Türnental

Hachtel und Türnental is a small protected landscape in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, situated in the district of Rottweil on the territory of the town of Dornhan. The area lies in the natural region of the Obere Gäue, just west of the village of Fürnsal, and represents a characteristic snippet of the Muschelkalk landscapes that define this part of southwestern Germany. The site's identity is shaped by the Türnenbach, a stream that flows from south to north through the protected area and is flanked by a narrow gallery of riverside woodland. Surrounding the stream, the land is broken into a finely structured pattern of meadows, hedgerows, small woodland patches, and scattered orchard trees, giving the area a traditional mixed agricultural character. However small, Hachtel und Türnental plays a meaningful role in the regional network of protected countryside. It forms part of the Naturpark Schwarzwald Mitte/Nord and partially overlaps with the FFH site Wiesen und Heiden an Glatt und Mühlbach, connecting it to broader European habitat conservation frameworks.
