Łysa Góra (Natura 2000)

Łysa Góra is a Natura 2000 protected site located in the Dukla Beskids, part of the broader Low Beskids range in southeastern Poland. Identified by the code PLH180015, the site covers the ridgeline formed by Grzywacka Góra, Łysa Góra, Polana, and Dania, with summits reaching well above 600 meters. Its character is defined by extensive Carpathian beech forest, smaller patches of related woodland habitats, and the presence of large carnivores and other protected species typical of relatively wild Central European mountains. The area is classed as a community-interest site under the European Union Habitats Directive, recognizing its ecological value at a continental scale. Almost the entire territory lies within the Beskid Niski Protected Landscape Area, and it also contains an enclave of Magurski National Park together with the Łysa Góra nature reserve. The combination of beech-dominated forest, protected landscape status, and overlap with a national park enclave gives the site a layered conservation role within the Polish Carpathians.
