Milechowy Nature Reserve

Milechowy Nature Reserve is a forest reserve located in the Holy Cross Mountains region of central Poland, within the Chęciny-Kielce Landscape Park in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The reserve safeguards a section of forested ridges northwest of the village of Milechowy, including a ridge that forms an extension of the Grząby Bolmińskie landform. It was established in 1978 and remains under partial protection today. The reserve's defining character comes from the combination of natural forest communities and unusually dry, sun-loving xerothermic vegetation. Together these habitats support a rich suite of protected plants, while the underlying limestone and rocky terrain shelters caves and rock shelters, including the well-known Piekło pod Małogoszczem cave. The landscape reflects a classic Holy Cross Mountains setting where woodland plateaus and warm, rocky slopes meet within a compact protected area.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
