Täler der Ill und ihrer Nebenbäche

Täler der Ill und ihrer Nebenbäche is a nature reserve (Naturschutzgebiet) in the German state of Saarland, designated to protect the valley landscape of the Ill river and its tributary streams. It consists of numerous separate component areas distributed across the districts of Neunkirchen and St. Wendel, forming a connected network of riverine and stream-valley habitats rather than a single contiguous block. The reserve lies between the town of Lebach to the west and the town of St. Wendel to the east, with the localities of Alsweiler, Marpingen, Illingen, and Eppelborn falling within or adjacent to its bounds. Its fragmented character reflects the dendritic drainage pattern of the Ill, allowing protection to follow the natural course of watercourses and their associated valley ecosystems. Officially placed under protection on 1 February 2005 under the designation NSG-104, the area is classified within the international IUCN framework as a Habitat or Species Management Area (Category IV). This designation reflects its role in conserving species-rich stream-valley habitats typical of the Saarland hill country.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
