Unteres Körschtal

Unteres Körschtal is a designated landscape protection area in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It covers the lower reaches of the Körsch valley and a stretch of the adjacent Neckar valley, bridging the communities of Denkendorf in the southwest and Deizisau in the northeast. The protected area sits within the Filder natural region, part of the broader Swabian Keuper-Lias landscape that defines much of central Baden-Württemberg. The area was placed under protection in 1978 to preserve the natural structure and diversity of the lower Körsch valley, including its slopes and surrounding land. Positioned at the southeastern fringe of the Stuttgart urban agglomeration, it functions as an ecological balancing area as well as a regional recreation space.
