Wolfsägertal

Wolfsägertal is a small nature reserve (Naturschutzgebiet) in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, located in the Landkreis Südwestpfalz near the village of Fischbach bei Dahn. It covers about 22 hectares within the broader Wasgau landscape, the German continuation of the Northern Vosges, and follows the Fischbach stream for roughly 2.6 kilometers toward the northwest. The reserve was designated on 22 December 1983 to protect near-natural plant communities, particularly the floating-leaf vegetation and reed zones around a small impounded pond near the Nollenkopf. The protection also extends to adjoining fens, wet meadows, and the stream itself, as well as to rare and threatened animal populations that depend on these habitats. Although compact in size, Wolfsägertal contributes meaningfully to the ecological diversity of the southern Palatinate Forest region. Its conservation value is rooted less in dramatic scenery and more in the continuity of small-scale wetland and aquatic systems that have survived in the valley floor.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
