Benambra National Park

Benambra National Park is a protected area located in the South West Slopes region of New South Wales, Australia, approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Albury and 20 kilometres southwest of Holbrook. The park covers an area of 13.99 square kilometres and was established in January 2001 to protect remnant areas of white box and Red Box woodlands that have been extensively cleared across the state. The park occupies the northern end of the Great Yambla Range, a prominent 23-kilometre-long outcrop of cliff faces and flat-topped peaks that forms part of the Lachlan Fold Belt. The terrain is characterised by steeply sloping hills with an altitudinal range between 328 and 646 metres above sea level, with only the northeastern section of the park situated on relatively flat, low-lying country.
