Crailsheimer Hart und Reusenberg

Crailsheimer Hart und Reusenberg is a protected habitat site in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, designated under the European Union Habitats Directive (FFH-Richtlinie). It spans roughly 714 hectares across parts of the Ostalbkreis and Landkreis Schwäbisch Hall, lying in the Jagst valley between the communities of Jagstzell and Satteldorf. The site is administered by the Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart and was formally established through an ordinance that entered into force on 11 January 2019. The area is a mosaic of juniper heaths, semi-dry grasslands, species-rich meadows, wet meadow valleys, doline landscapes on gypsum keuper, and near-natural alluvial forests along the Jagst river and its near-natural course. It carries significance as both a conservation area and as part of the broader Natura 2000 network of European protected areas. Beyond its ecological character, the site links several smaller landscape protection areas and contains two nature reserves within its boundaries, reinforcing its role in regional habitat connectivity in the Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald region.
