Gaienbühl

Gaienbühl is a small landscape protection area (Landschaftsschutzgebiet) in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southwestern Germany, situated within the municipality of Königsfeld im Schwarzwald in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis. Covering roughly 50 hectares, it lies just south of Königsfeld along the road toward Mönchweiler and belongs to the natural region of the Middle Black Forest (Mittlerer Schwarzwald). The protected area combines forested slopes with a large central meadow and several small wetland biotopes. Part of the area also falls within the Baar Special Protection Area (Vogelschutzgebiet Baar), linking the local site to broader bird conservation networks in the region. Designated on 15 July 1954 by ordinance of the Landratsamt Villingen (now administered by the Landratsamt Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis), Gaienbühl is a typical example of the many smaller, ecologically valuable landscape protection areas that together safeguard the cultural and natural character of the Black Forest foothills.
