Milíčovský les a rybníky

Milíčovský les a rybníky is a natural monument (přírodní památka) in the southern outskirts of Prague, located near the Jižní Město housing estate and the D1 motorway in the Praha-Újezd area. The protected area combines a mature deciduous forest with a chain of small ponds on the Milíčovský potok, creating a mosaic of oak-hornbeam woodland, alder carrs, wet meadows, reedbeds, and open water within a heavily urbanized landscape. The site is part of the broader Botič-Milíčov natural park and forms the core of the Natura 2000 site Milíčovský les, established principally to protect the rare great capricorn beetle along with a wide range of amphibian, bird, and wetland communities. Although it sits between a large residential district and a major highway, the protected area preserves a surprisingly species-rich enclave of habitats otherwise rare in central Prague. Visitors, especially residents of the surrounding neighborhoods, use the area for short walks along a marked educational trail. Its proximity to the city, combined with its ecological richness, makes the natural monument one of the most important local nature areas in southern Prague.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
