Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape

Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape is a protected landscape of forested limestone hills, grasslands and natural springs on the island province of Bohol in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines. It represents the largest remaining tract of natural forest on Bohol and occupies the low mountain range in the southern part of the island, spanning several municipalities including Carmen, Sierra Bullones, Bilar and Loboc. The area is one of the Philippines' most important birdwatching destinations, supporting a high number of endemic and threatened species across its limestone forest, caves and adjoining grasslands. Beyond its ecological significance, the park is closely associated with the cultural history of Bohol through its name, drawn from the chieftain who entered into the famous blood compact with Spanish conquistador Miguel López de Legazpi in 1565. Located near the famous Chocolate Hills and about 40 kilometres east of Tagbilaran, the park combines wilderness, biodiversity and local heritage into a single protected area that anchors much of southern Bohol's natural landscape.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
