V hrobech

V hrobech is a small natural monument (přírodní památka) located in the southern part of Prague, in the Kamýk cadastral area. Surrounded by the residential districts of Lhotka, Libuš, and Modřany, the protected site covers roughly 1.3 hectares of southeast-facing slope and adjoining valley at an elevation of about 276 to 282 meters. Despite its urban setting, it preserves a fragment of dry, species-rich grassland with exceptional botanical value within the city. The site is protected primarily for its thermophilic pasture flora and fauna, including several rare and endangered plant species such as the Bohemian pasqueflower (Pulsatilla pratensis subsp. bohemica) and Bohemian star-of-Bethlehem (Gagea bohemica). Historically, the area maintained wetland vegetation along a small stream that was a tributary of Lhotecký potok, and was already known to botanists in the 1960s. Management focuses on maintaining the open character of the grassland through mosaic mowing, grazing, and potential controlled burning, while contending with pressures from invasive grasses, dog walkers, and trampling. The monument connects ecologically with the adjacent Kamýk forest park, which serves as an important refuge for small animals in this densely built-up part of Prague.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
