Fiskbæk Å

Fiskbæk Å is a small stream in Midtjylland, central Jutland in Denmark, stretching roughly twelve kilometers in length and reaching up to about eight meters in width. It rises on the central Jutland plateau west of the town of Ravnstrup and west of Viborg, then flows generally northward before turning east and resuming its course toward the Hjarbæk Fjord, where it empties just northwest of Løgstrup. The upper part of the stream valley is shaped by the basin once occupied by Bredsgårde Sø, a former lake whose former bed is today part of a larger protected landscape. Along this stretch the valley holds a mosaic of heath-covered slopes, scrub, meadows, and spring-fed mires that together form one of the area's more ecologically distinctive corridors. Although modest in scale, the stream and its valley have local importance for conservation and for freshwater connectivity. The valley was placed under nature protection in 1984 and now sits within the European Natura 2000 network as a recognized habitat area, while a 2009 restoration project reopened the stream to free fish passage.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
