Mittleres Ourtal zwischen Dreiländereck und Rellesmühle

Mittleres Ourtal zwischen Dreiländereck und Rellesmühle is a protected nature reserve in the Eifel region of western Germany, situated in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm district of Rhineland-Palatinate. The reserve follows the middle stretch of the Our river valley between the community of Sevenig (Our) in the north and Dasburg in the south, with the river and the international border with Luxembourg forming its western edge. The area safeguards a near-natural submontane valley landscape in central-western Europe, preserving habitats that support rare and threatened animal and plant communities. Established in 1989, the reserve protects roughly 490 hectares of flowing waterways, wetland zones, deciduous forests, coppice woodlands, and rocky habitats that together form a remarkably intact valley ecosystem along an international frontier. Its ecological significance lies in the combination of a relatively undisturbed river system with adjacent woodland and rock habitats, creating conditions for a rich diversity of amphibians, birds, bats, beetles, butterflies, dragonflies, caddisflies, and other invertebrates. The reserve is part of a broader network of protected areas within the Eifelkreis that collectively conserve the natural and cultural landscape of this border region between Germany, Luxembourg, and nearby Belgium.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
