Rameno Moravy

Rameno Moravy is a small protected natural area in the Zlín Region of the Czech Republic, located in the cadastral territory of Miňůvky, part of the city of Kroměříž. The site protects a former channel, or oxbow, of the Morava River, along with the wetland and aquatic habitats that have developed in and around its still-water segments. Despite its very small footprint of just over two hectares, the preserve carries considerable regional importance because it preserves a distinctive floodplain habitat along a heavily altered lowland river. The main reason for its protected status is the presence of aquatic and marsh plant communities that are rare in the wider Kroměříž district. It is the only natural locality of the yellow water-lily (Nuphar lutea) in the Kroměříž area, which gives the preserve a particular botanical value. The combination of standing water, soft sediments, and the surrounding riparian environment supports wetland biodiversity in a region where such habitats have largely disappeared through river regulation and agricultural land use. Beyond its ecological role, the site also has a modest cultural layer. A memorial plaque to Ladislav Zlatuška is located within the protected area, and a blue-marked hiking trail runs along the bank of the Morava past the site, connecting the area to the broader network of paths around Kroměříž.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
