Rezerwat Przyrody Debrza

Rezerwat Przyrody Debrza is a small forest nature reserve located on the outskirts of Tarnów in the Małopolskie Voivodeship of southern Poland. Covering just 9.50 hectares, it lies on land managed by the Gromnik Forest District (Skrzyszów forestry unit) and falls within the broader Tarnów Plateau mezoregion. The reserve was established in 1995 specifically to protect an old-growth oak and small-leaved linden stand that represents the fertile subcontinental oak-linden-hornbeam forest community, known in Polish ecology as a grad. The most striking feature is a cluster of oaks estimated to be 250 to 300 years old in the northwestern part of the reserve, which gives the woodland a distinctly veteran character rarely seen in such a compact urban-edge site. Beyond its old trees, Debrza is a refuge for protected plant species such as common ivy, mezereon, wild ginger, alder buckthorn, and lily of the valley, along with a typical mix of forest birds, amphibians, and small mammals. Despite its small size, the reserve is an important example of lowland deciduous forest conservation close to a large Polish city.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
