Ruschdahlmoor

Ruschdahlmoor is a small nature reserve in the state of Bremen, Germany, located in the Lesum district of the Burglesum borough of the city of Bremen. Designated as a nature reserve (Naturschutzgebiet) in 1991, the protected area covers only a few hectares yet holds remarkable ecological and geological significance. The site is essentially a peat-forming wetland that developed inside a sinkhole above the Lesum salt dome, giving rise to one of the deepest peat bodies documented in Europe. Despite its compact size and almost entirely urban surroundings, Ruschdahlmoor supports a diverse mosaic of wetland habitats including reedbeds, sedge communities, tall herb vegetation, scrub patches, small ponds, and minor streams. This dense habitat mosaic, surrounded by housing and bounded by narrow landscape-protection strips, makes the reserve a notable example of a high-value micro-reserve embedded within a densely populated German city.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
