Bagno Przecławskie Nature Reserve

Bagno Przecławskie Nature Reserve is a small peatland protected area in southeastern Poland, located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship within the Sandomierz Basin lowlands. Established in 1979, the reserve covers roughly 25 hectares of open bog surrounded by wetland forest. It was created to preserve the natural peatland communities that once characterized much of the Sandomierz Basin. Today the site is recognized as a refuge for bog flora, amphibians, and forest wildlife typical of lowland wetlands. The reserve protects a mosaic of floating bog mats, raised bog communities, and boggy pine forest. Although the peatland was historically exploited, traces of that use remain in the form of small bog pools. Active and strict conservation measures are applied to monitor vegetation change and maintain the marked hiking trail. The area contains two ecological use sites within its boundaries, an unusual situation in Poland that reflects the layered nature of its habitat protection. Despite its modest size, Bagno Przecławskie carries strong ecological significance because it preserves bog communities that have largely disappeared from the surrounding lowlands. It serves as both a refuge for species adapted to peatland conditions and a quiet destination for visitors interested in wetland landscapes.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
