Dębowe Góry Nature Reserve

Dębowe Góry is a small forest nature reserve in the Podlaskie Voivodeship of northeastern Poland, established in 2001 to preserve a stand of light-loving sessile oak woodland (świetlista dąbrowa). Located in the rural gmina of Zambrów, roughly six kilometers south of Łomża near the northern edge of the larger Czerwony Bór forest, the reserve covers just under one hundred hectares of lowland forest terrain. The protected area is dominated by mixed deciduous and coniferous forest communities typical of the Międzyrzecze Łomżyńskie mesoregion, with the star attraction being a near-natural patch of Potentillo albae-Quercetum oak woodland. This community is ecologically significant in Poland because well-preserved examples of light oak forest have become increasingly scarce across the lowlands. Beyond its oak stands, the reserve protects a rich woodland understory containing several regionally rare herbaceous plants, giving the site value not only for conservation but also for scientific study and environmental education.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
