Meszcze Nature Reserve

Meszcze Nature Reserve is a small forest nature reserve located on the administrative territory of Piotrków Trybunalski in the Łódź Voivodeship of central Poland. Covering about 35 hectares, it lies within the Sulejów Landscape Park, one of the components of the broader Nadpiliczne Landscape Parks complex in the Pilica river basin. The reserve protects a fragment of natural fresh mixed forest with a particularly notable composition: the upper tree layer is dominated by small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata), whose entire local population descends from a few seed-bearing lime clusters left on a logging clearing more than a century ago, after which pine was planted and lime naturally regenerated underneath. Beyond its ecological significance, the reserve is integrated into the regional educational infrastructure through a nature and forestry trail that leads visitors from the educational farm at the village of Koło into the protected area and onward to notable memorial trees.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
