Uferbewuchs der Eschach

Uferbewuchs der Eschach is a small protected landscape area (Landschaftsschutzgebiet) located in the town of Leutkirch im Allgäu, in the Ravensburg district of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It was established on 27 July 1953 by the former Landratsamt Wangen to conserve the riparian character of the Eschach stream, a tributary within the wider Aitrach river system of the Upper Swabian region. The protected area consists of two sections that together follow the bed and banks of the Eschach, beginning in the south near the Ziegelhütte locality and continuing through parts of the town up to the boundary of the Leutkirch municipal area. Although very small in total extent, it preserves a continuous band of native riverside vegetation that contrasts with the surrounding urban and industrial fabric of Leutkirch. Geographically, the area lies within the natural region of the Riß-Aitrach-Platten, a landscape shaped by glacial and post-glacial processes typical of the Alpine foothills. To the north, beyond the Leutkirch–Memmingen railway line, it borders the larger FFH (Habitats Directive) site of Aitrach, Ach und Dürrenbach, placing this narrow riparian reserve within a broader network of stream and floodplain habitats in the region.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
