Bielańsko-Tyniecki Landscape Park

Bielańsko-Tyniecki Landscape Park is a protected landscape area in the Małopolskie voivodeship of southern Poland, lying along the upper course of the Vistula River between Kraków and Ściejowice. The park stretches across parts of the city of Kraków and the neighboring communes of Czernichów and Liszki, protecting a varied mosaic of forested hills, river terraces, limestone outcrops, caves, meadows, and small valleys on the northwestern fringe of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland and the adjacent Vistula lowland. The area combines natural and cultural heritage in an unusually compact setting. Three large forest complexes anchor the park: the well-known Wolski Forest (Lasek Wolski) near Kraków's Bielany district, the woodlands around Tyniec, and the forests near Czernichów. Four nature reserves, several Natura 2000 sites, ecological use areas, and dozens of natural monuments add further layers of protection. At the same time, centuries-old monasteries such as the Camaldolese Hermitage on Bielany and the Benedictine Abbey at Tyniec give the park its name and a strong spiritual and historical identity. The park was established in 1981 by resolution of the National Council of the City of Kraków and is now managed as part of the Complex of Landscape Parks of the Małopolskie Voivodeship. Although it is located on the edge of a major urban area, it functions as a green corridor linking the limestone landscapes of the Kraków Upland with the Vistula valley and the meadows that line the river downstream toward Skawina.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
