Boikivshchyna National Nature Park

Boikivshchyna National Nature Park is a protected area in the Carpathian Mountains of western Ukraine, established in 2019 to preserve the alpine landscapes of the Eastern Beskids and the forests of the upper Dniester River basin. The park spans portions of Lviv Oblast and extends into neighboring Zakarpattia Oblast, encompassing mountainous terrain characterized by coniferous forests and steep valley systems. As one of Ukraine's newer national parks, it was created to protect the genetic, species, and landscape diversity of the Ukrainian Carpathians, a mountain range known for its ecological richness and ecological corridors across Eastern Europe. The park includes Pikui, the highest mountain in Lviv Oblast, and encompasses the headwaters of the Stryi River, a significant tributary of the Dniester.
