Naturschutzgebiet Ahetal und Langes Siepen: Geography and Protected Area Overview
Nature reserve in the Rothaar foothills, Kreis Olpe
Covering the Ahe valley and its headwater catchment, this nature reserve is defined by its exceptionally dense concentration of seepage springs and near-natural brooks. The landscape transitions from shaded alder-lined seepage valleys into open, species-rich grassland, providing a critical refuge for local woodland species. As part of the Rothaarvorhöhen biotope network, it represents a significant, compact example of central upland stream valley geography.
