Mójka Nature Reserve

Mójka Nature Reserve is a forest protected area in southeastern Poland, located in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship on the Pogórze Dynowskie foothills. The reserve covers roughly 288 hectares of forest within the Kąkolówka and Futoma villages in Błażowa commune, Rzeszów County, and lies inside the Hyżnieńsko-Gwoźnicki Protected Landscape Area. It is managed as part of the Kąkolówka forest district within Strzyżów Forest Management Unit. The reserve was established in 1997 specifically to protect a valuable beech-fir forest community and the wetland habitats that support a resident population of European beaver. Botanical surveys have recorded 340 species of vascular plants within the reserve, including 24 legally protected species, of which 18 are under strict protection. A nature-education trail crosses the area, making the reserve a small but ecologically focused protected site within the Carpathian foothills of Poland. Although modest in size, Mójka stands out for the combination of upland Carpathian forest and associated wetland communities in a single protected area, with active management attention to both forest structure and beaver-influenced aquatic habitats.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
