Mokry Jegiel Nature Reserve

Mokry Jegiel Nature Reserve is a small forest reserve in east-central Poland, established in 2002 within the Sadowne commune in Węgrów County, Masovian Voivodeship. It lies entirely inside the broader Nadbużański Landscape Park, taking advantage of the flat, waterlogged floodplain terrain that characterizes the Dolina Dolnego Bugu (Lower Bug Valley) mesoregion near the country's eastern border. The reserve protects a mosaic of wetland forest types. Its habitats include coniferous bog woodland (bory), alder swamp forest (olsyna), and periodically flooded riparian forest (łęg), together with wet meadows that occupy the more open parts of the area. Together these habitats form one of the more characteristic wetland-forest complexes of the Lower Bug valley. The reserve is also valued for its birdlife, especially as a breeding and sheltering site for several uncommon woodland and wetland species. Its position within a larger protected landscape corridor along the Bug River gives it added significance as part of the wider ecological network of eastern Poland.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
