Na Stříbrné

Na Stříbrné is a small protected natural area (přírodní památka) in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, located near the village of Český Šternberk in the Benešov District. It was established on 9 March 1972 and covers just under five hectares of hilly terrain between roughly 320 and 382 meters in elevation. Although compact, the reserve is notable for combining a flower-rich beech forest with an unusually varied geological substrate that includes metamorphosed limestone, dolomite, amphibolite, and granite. The defining feature of the site is the population of mezereon (Daphne mezereum), a poisonous shrub whose bright berries and early-spring blossoms make the forest layer visually distinctive in early season. Beyond the botanical interest, the area preserves traces of former mineral extraction: limestone quarrying in the 19th century and historical silver mining in the broader surroundings, both of which lend the place its name. Equally important is the bat fauna associated with an old drainage adit along the northern boundary of the protected area, which provides significant roosting habitat for several bat species. Together, the forest composition, geology, and abandoned mining infrastructure make Na Stříbrné a compact but multi-layered natural monument that highlights both ecological and historical dimensions of the Czech landscape.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
