Bohdalovsko Natural Park

Bohdalovsko Natural Park (Přírodní park Bohdalovsko) is a protected landscape area in the western part of the Žďár nad Sázavou district, in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic. It covers about 6,080 hectares of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and was established in 2001 to preserve the natural, cultural, and historical character of an area recognized for its high biological and aesthetic values. The park stretches across a landscape shaped by centuries of human use, where former beech and fir forests were long ago replaced by fields, meadows, pastures, and spruce plantations. Today the area is defined by an unusually rich network of fishponds, damp meadows, and small peatland pockets scattered among farmland and forest, creating a mosaic that supports a remarkable variety of wetland plants, amphibians, and waterbirds. Within the broader park area, several small protected sites, including the natural reserve of Baba - V bukách and the natural monument Laguna u Bohdalova, anchor the park's conservation value. Five sites here are part of the European Natura 2000 network, reflecting the area's significance for rare pond-margin flora and amphibian populations across Central Europe.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
