Beyond the Drugeon basin, the perimeter incorporates the emblematic peatland ensembles of the upper Doubs valley, the Combe de Chapelle-des-Bois and Bellefontaine, the Vallée de l'Orbe around Les Rousses and Bois d'Amont, the Haut-Doubs around Mouthe and the four-lake complex near Le Frasnois.
