Diabla Góra Nature Reserve

Diabla Góra Nature Reserve is a small landscape reserve in central Poland, situated in the Łódź Voivodeship on the border between Piotrków Trybunalski County and Opoczno County. It covers an isolated, forested hill of the same name within the Wzgórza Opoczyńskie (Opoczno Hills) mesoregion, an area characterized by scattered elevations rising above the surrounding lowlands. The reserve's main purpose is to protect a wooded hill crowned with sandstone rock outcrops, a relatively unusual geological feature in this part of Poland. Because the hill rises clearly above the flat agricultural landscape around it, both the landform and its pine-oak forest cover have long drawn attention, making the reserve a recognizable landmark within the region. Established in the late 1980s, Diabla Góra also carries historical significance as a site of partisan battles during the Second World War. Today it serves as both a natural refuge for protected habitats and species, and as a starting point for marked hiking routes through the nearby Pilica river landscape.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
