Im Binner

Im Binner is a small nature reserve in the district of Gütersloh in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Covering around 30 hectares near the village of Druffel in the city of Rietberg, it lies within the Ems sand plain, a lowland region characterized by sandy soils and traditionally species-rich wet grasslands. The reserve is dominated by meadowland that retains the character of the historic Ems sand plain wet meadow landscape, divided by hedgerows, tree lines, and shrub strips that have grown into the grassland over the decades. Small water features, including former fish ponds now rebuilt for species conservation and a drainage ditch connecting to the Merschgraben, complete the habitat mosaic. Designated in 1988, the area is valued primarily for the conservation of plant communities and the rare wet meadow species that still survive in this intensively used agricultural region. Its combination of grassland, hedges, ponds, and adjacent woodland makes it an important refuge for breeding meadow birds in the wider Gütersloh region.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
