Jodły Sieleckie Nature Reserve

Jodły Sieleckie Nature Reserve is a small forest nature reserve located in central Poland, within the Łódź Voivodeship and the Opoczno County area. It lies in the village of Sielec, in the gmina Żarnów, and falls within the Wzgórza Opoczyńskie mesoregion, a landscape of gentle hills that gives the area a distinct character compared to the flatter surroundings of central Poland. The reserve was established in 1998 and covers roughly 33 hectares. It is classified as a phytocoenotic reserve of forest communities, focused on protecting a fragment of woodland where fir (jodła) regenerates naturally. Beyond its botanical value, the reserve also preserves traces of historical siderite iron ore mining carried out using the traditional duklowa method, giving it a layered character that combines natural and industrial heritage. Although modest in size, Jodły Sieleckie is a meaningful representative of the forest communities of the Wzgórza Opoczyńskie and serves both scientific and educational purposes, according to its founding designation.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
