Mausbachtal Nature Reserve

Mausbachtal is a small nature reserve on the Bergische Hochflächen in the Oberbergischer Kreis of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Covering roughly 24 hectares, it follows the valley of the Mausbach stream southwest of the town of Wipperfürth, together with two left-bank tributary valleys known as the Liethsiefen and the Hirschfelder Bach. The reserve protects a characteristic Bergisches plateau landscape, combining narrow stream valleys cut into gently rolling uplands with young mixed deciduous forest along the former floodplain and open, flower-rich wet meadows and tall herb fringes in other sections. A near-natural beech forest survives along the upper reaches. Designated in 2013 as a protected area within the regional landscape plan, Mausbachtal is valued as a structurally rich, representative example of the area's stream valley systems and as a link in a broader network of stream corridors connected to the larger Große Dhünn watercourse.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
