Nest Hill Nature Reserve

Nest Hill Nature Reserve is a small protected nature reserve in the South Western Slopes region of New South Wales, in southeastern Australia. Covering around 759 hectares near Pulletop, it sits roughly halfway between Holbrook and Wagga Wagga in gently undulating country along County Ridge. The reserve protects a typical example of the dry eucalypt woodlands that characterise this part of inland New South Wales, dominated by white box, red stringybark, red box and scribbly gum. Gazetted as a nature reserve in 2001 after decades under state forest management, Nest Hill offers a quiet example of how former timber country is being stewarded for biodiversity recovery in the Murray-Darling slopes. The reserve is administered by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and is recognised as a strict nature reserve under international protected-area standards. Its modest size and dry, seasonally sparse character place it among the more understated but ecologically meaningful small reserves in southern New South Wales.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
