Přírodní park Doubrava

Přírodní park Doubrava is a small protected natural area in the Chrudim district of the Pardubice Region in the central Czech Republic. It occupies a narrow, elongated strip of landscape running roughly north to south along the valley of the Doubrava River, with the town of Ronov nad Doubravou at its northern end and the village of Spačice at its southern end. The eastern boundary brushes against the town of Třemošnice, placing the park within a transitional zone between the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and the Iron Mountains foothills. The park's defining feature is its riverine setting. The Doubrava River flows through the entire protected area from south to north, and the historic Pařížov reservoir, with its rubble-stone dam recognized as a technical monument, sits on this stretch of the river. Between the settlement of Mladotice and Ronov nad Doubravou, the river is even routed through an artificial water tunnel, adding a distinctive piece of hydraulic engineering heritage to the natural surroundings. Ecologically, the park combines riverine vegetation, woodland, and rocky terrain around the reservoir. Its flora and fauna reflect the character of central Bohemian river valleys, with species such as the fire salamander and the European otter present alongside characteristic riverbank plants and cavity-nesting birds. Together, these qualities make Přírodní park Doubrava a compact but ecologically meaningful nature reserve in an otherwise developed Czech landscape.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
