Jezioro Prosino Nature Reserve

Jezioro Prosino Nature Reserve is a small faunistic nature reserve in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship of northwestern Poland, located in the Drawsko Lake District within the administrative area of Gmina Czaplinek. The reserve centers on Lake Prosino and a surrounding belt of lakeshore vegetation, making it primarily a wetland and bird-focused protected area rather than a large forest or mountain park. The reserve was established in 1988 to protect breeding populations of waterbirds and wetland-dependent species, together with their habitats, and was later expanded in 2007 to its current extent. Its territory overlaps with the broader Drawsko Landscape Park and lies within two Natura 2000 network areas: the habitat site Jeziora Czaplineckie and the bird protection site Ostoja Drawska. Although compact in size, Jezioro Prosino is ecologically significant because it safeguards a mix of protected plant species associated with lakeshore habitats and several rare or sensitive bird species. It is best understood as a quiet, lake-based wildlife reserve nestled inside one of the more characteristic postglacial lake landscapes of northern Poland.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
