Drzewce Nature Reserve

Drzewce Nature Reserve is a forest reserve in the Masovian Voivodeship of central Poland, located on the south-western edge of the town of Gostynin. Established in 1988, it covers a compact tract of about 62 hectares of lowland mixed forest that lies within the broader Kutno Plain mesoregion. The reserve was created specifically to protect the deciduous, oak-hornbeam (grąd) forest communities that grow across the flat terrain of the ancient pradol valley of the Skrwa Lewa River. This habitat type is characteristic of the rich, fertile lowlands of central Poland and has been widely reduced elsewhere by centuries of agricultural clearing. Beyond its ecological role, the reserve is notable for being crossed by the Gostynin–Kutno railway line, while its eastern edge borders National Road 60. Despite these transport corridors, the protected forest stands as a locally important island of natural woodland in a heavily cultivated lowland landscape.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
