Vypálenky

Vypálenky is a small protected wetland area in the southeastern corner of the village of Moravský Písek, located northwest of Veselí nad Moravou in the Hodonín District of the South Moravian Region in the Czech Republic. Established on 1 January 2014 by the Regional Authority of the South Moravian Region, the site covers roughly 65 hectares of lowland floodplain habitat within the Morava River valley. The core purpose of the protection is its wetland biotope, which supports exceptionally rich amphibian communities, particularly the European fire-bellied toad and the Danube crested newt. The site also functions as a breeding and stopover habitat for wetland birds and as a refuge for notable plant assemblages and invertebrates, many of them among the most heavily protected species in the Czech Republic. Vypálenky forms part of the wider Natura 2000 network and lies within the Bzenecká Doubrava – Strážnické Pomoraví Site of Community Importance and Bird Area, a much larger transboundary protected landscape of nearly twelve thousand hectares that connects lowland forests, meadows, and floodplain ecosystems along the Morava River.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
