Boodjamulla National Park is a vast protected area in the Gulf Country region of northwestern Queensland, Australia. The park encompasses approximately 2,820 square kilometers of diverse landscapes including sandstone ranges, deep gorges, and the renowned Lawn Hill Gorge. Formerly known as Lawn Hill National Park, the area holds extraordinary significance as the location of the Riversleigh World Heritage Area, one of Australia's most important fossil sites containing preserved remains dating back 25 million years. The park sits on the traditional country of the Waanyi people, who have lived in this region for at least 17,000 years and know the place as Boodjamulla, or Rainbow Serpent country. Today the park is jointly managed by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and the Waanyi people, representing a model of Indigenous partnership in conservation.
