Rezerwat przyrody Jezioro Wiejki

Jezioro Wiejki is a small water nature reserve in eastern Poland, located in the village of Wiejki within Gmina Gródek in Podlaskie Voivodeship. The reserve protects a naturally formed mesotrophic lake together with surrounding peatland, one of the few surviving remnants of a post-glacial lake system in this part of the Białystok Highlands. The protected area was established on 29 December 2005 by order of the Podlaskie Voivodeship governor, expanding earlier protection that existed between 1997 and 2005 in the form of an ecological utility. Its core purpose is to conserve, for scientific and educational reasons, the natural lake and peatland habitats along with the rare animal and plant species that depend on them. Although the reserve covers only about 22 hectares, it stands out for the unusually clear zonation of its wetland and aquatic vegetation and for the presence of several nationally threatened plants and large mammals such as lynx, wolf, and beaver.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
