Meandry Struhy

Meandry Struhy is a small but ecologically meaningful natural monument (přírodní památka) in the Pardubice District of the Pardubice Region in the Czech Republic. It protects a stretch of the Struha stream, a left-bank tributary of the Elbe (Labe), where the watercourse still follows a naturally meandering course rather than a straightened, regulated channel. The protected area lies west of the village of Bezděkov, between the municipalities of Veselí u Přelouče and Valy, just outside the town of Přelouč. Its landscape blends winding stream channels, riparian galleries of trees, fragments of floodplain forest, and adjoining meadows, together forming one of the more recognizable pieces of surviving natural Polabí, or Elbe lowland, scenery. Beyond its geomorphological interest, the site is valued chiefly for its birdlife and its role as a refuge for species tied to undisturbed lowland streams. It is a notable nesting ground for songbirds, supports kingfishers along the banks, and maintains native fish populations in the cool, well-oxygenated water of the Struha.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
