Mszar nad Jeziorem Mnich Nature Reserve

Mszar nad Jeziorem Mnich is a small peatland nature reserve in west-central Poland, situated within the Sieraków commune of Greater Poland Voivodeship. The reserve lies inside the broader Sierakowski Landscape Park, in an area where the Notec Forest complex meets a series of former glacial landforms. The protected area centers on a transitional peatland that has developed over the southern, still-water portion of a lake that is steadily filling in and turning into mire. This overgrown lake fills a narrow glacial channel cut between inland dunes, producing a distinctive setting of open bog vegetation set against sandy ridges. Although compact in size, the reserve is recognized for its botanical richness, particularly the diversity of mosses and vascular plants tied to bog and mire habitats, including several species of conservation concern. Its value lies in preserving an intact wetland community in a landscape that is otherwise dominated by forest and dune terrain.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
